The Season 2 premiere of The Newsroom, opened up with a flashback of Will McAvoy answering questions to a less-than impressed ACN attorney. They were talking about some kind of story with the keyword "Genoa."

In true McAvoy [Sorkin] fashion, he couldn't answer a single question directly, instead opting for wordy sardonicism, deflecting any real, thoughtful sincerity. 

The opening scene also set up the main conflict for at the least the first half of Season 2. This "Genoa" situation obviously got the mavericks over at ACN in trouble again.

Oh and did anyone see David Bowie's cameo in the first few minutes of the opening act. Yea, Ziggy Stardust in the flesh. Only Will McAvoy is cool enough to get bring Ziggy back from the dead.

From what the Episode 2 trailer tells us, Maggie's life is in ruins. Big surprise there. Don saw the video of her "Sex and the City" tour bus meltdown, where she admitted to being in love with Jim. Now Maggie's living with her old roommate Lisa, who just happened to date Jim. Maybe Sorkin will bring back 90210 too?

And poor Jim. He'd rather a work a Mitt Romney campaign than face his actually life another day. That's bleak man.

Will Jim and Maggie work it out in time for the Season 2 conclusion?
