The Newsroom Season 2 Episode 8 "Election Night, Part 1" airs Sunday night at 10 PM ET on HBO. After being renewed for a third season, The Newsroom Season 2 is in full swing with the gang covering the presidential election while dealing with the fallout of the Genoa story.

In the trailer for tonight's Episode 8, Charlie urges the critical importance of not making any more mistakes after having to retract all of their claims with the falsified Genoa story.

With the election looming, ACN has an opportunity to cover the news and hopefully their tracks from recent journalistic no-no's.

In the trailer Mac compares Will to a bomb that hasn't detonated yet. Chances are in tonight's episode that will be Will's cue to light a cigarette in his office minutes before going on air, and delivering the savant-style performance The Newsroom creator Aaron Sorkin is so keen on.

Also in the trailer it looks like Charlie and Mac are still reeling over putting incredulous news on air and are begging to be fired. ACN refuses to let the showrunners go, which drives Mac back into Will's office pleading for him to fire her, because he's the only one that can.

Not that it spoils the episode in the trailer for you, but c'mon Will's not firing Mac. Charlie on the other hand may actually get his wish.

Oh and Maggie has that gross red hair. Anytime you see that Bowie wig, you know something's going wrong. How did the boys and girls at ACN screw it up this time?
