Rumor has it that the Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder have just called it quits after a fight over 'The Twilight Saga' star Nikki Reed, and allegedly separated their roles in 'The Vampire Diaries'.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, after their reported break up, both Dobrev and Somerhalder were "very awkward" on set of 'The Vampire Diaries'.

The root of the issue was reportedly 'Enter the Dangerous Mind' actress Nikki Reed, who currently is Somerhalder's flame.

Somerhalder was reportedly bringing Reed to the set of 'The Vampire Diaries' and showing "public displays of affection," making things uncomfortable for his co-star and ex-girlfriend Dobrev, who he dated for three years until their reported break-up in May 2013.

Back in August, Somerhalder and Reed were said to be already living together near the set of 'The Vampire Diaries' in Atlanta, Georgia.

"[Nikki] goes to set every day," an insider from US Weekly reported.

Somerhalder and Reed started dating after Dobrev filed for divorce from former husband and 'American Idol' star Paul McDonald last May.

The situation has been very awkward especially since Dobrev and Somerhalder will continue to play love interests in the TV series.

The tension came to a point where the writers of the series were reported to have intentionally broken apart their two characters, Elena and Damon in majority of Season 6, "hoping that some time apart will do them good."

Meanwhile, Somerhalder has apparently moved on from Dobrev, as he was seen kissing Nikki Reed on the forehead in LAX last week, Oct. 10, Friday.

The new couple even decided to own a horse they named Eagle. Somerhalder went on Twitter to post about their experience together.

"What amazing creatures they are. Wow," the 35-year old actor posted on Aug. 5.

"Thank you @iamnikkireed for snapping this special moment, with our big baby boy," Somerhalder added.
