Pokemon X and Y News: Pokemon Bank Release Date Delayed With Poke Transporter After Japanese Launch Downs Servers
Nintendo has delayed the scheduled Western release of two Pokemon-related apps on the 3DS eShop on Friday as the corporation's virtual network is suffering from "a large volume of traffic," according to new reports this week.
The complications arose on Christmas day, when the Japanese release of the Pokemon Bank and Poke Transporter caused the company's entire Internet server to crash.
Consumers reported common complications gaining access to the Nintendo eShop, playing online games, and even utilizing services like YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu through the Wii U, 3DS, Wii, and DS.
These glitches have been unrelenting since yesterday and into this morning, according to a report from Nintendo.
"Due to the high traffic, players are having trouble setting up Nintendo Network IDs and downloading content in the Nintendo eShop on both Wii U and Nintendo 3DS," said Nintendo.
"We truly regret the inconvenience, and wish to reassure everyone that providing a solution is our top priority. We apologize for the delay and thank you for your continued patience."
Other online gaming services like PSN and Steam, were temporarily unavailable on Christmas Day, nevertheless service was swiftly returned for both networks.
Announced back in September, the Pokemon Bank and Transporter, are cloud-based services that allows gamers to store and trade their creatures online for a minor fee.
