Nintendo NX News Update: Release Date Almost Here? Retailer Includes Console In Website

While there's no news on the launch of the Nintendo NX, Tesco only added to the anticipation by adding a landing page on its retail website along with the price about $450.

NIntendo Life noted that Tesco later took out the price but interesting enough, it didn't renege on the Nintendo NX console.

The website also published a release date of Dec. 3, 2016, which is so far ahead of the previous news reports and rumors about the NIntendo NX being released in March of 2017 at least. Although to be fair, there is also speculation that the console will be launched in October this year so a December release could be a nice middle ground.

But My Nintendo News said the Tesco listing is not without basis considering that last week, retailers visited the Japanese company's headquarters in Germany.

The reason for that visit was unclear, but it's not much of a stretch that they might have been briefed about the Nintendo NX and its release date.

After a disappointing reception for its Nintendo Wii U, the Japanese company seems bent on reversing its fortunes with the Nintendo NX. The new console has been shrouded with mystery as the company is not releasing details about its specs.

There are talks, however, about the Nintendo NX finally putting the Nintendo Wii U to pasture as the company is seeking to reboot its console strategy.

According to the news article from DigiTimes, the company is aiming to sella conservative 10 million Nintendo NX each year.
