Nintendo Switch Price News Update: UK Website Lists Pre-Order For £198.50
The price for the Nintendo Switch turned up in the GameSeek website for a pre-order price of £198.50 ($246.79), the latest news revealed.
According to the report from GameSpot, the price listed in the pre-order page is guaranteed. That means even if the value turns out to be bigger than the asking price of the retailer, then you get a discount.
This is a big risk considering the news about the Nintendo Switch price has yet to be revealed.
"With our Pre-order Price Guarantee, you can order now and if the GameSeek price increases between the time you place your order and the release date, you'll be charged the lower price," the website said.
But then again, the company will rake in the difference if the price is lesser than what the console will cost.
The price of $246.79 is just about right for the Nintendo Switch. The Wii was valued at $250 during launch while the GameCube was $200. With its versatility and the promise of playing more third-party titles, the upcoming console likely won't cost less than $250.
The Wii U was a huge disappointment for the company after having shipped only over 12 million units since its launch. The Nintendo Switch, meanwhile, is seen to turn around this setback.
There are a number of ways the Nintendo Switch could be a success and one of them is for Nintendo to make sure it's affordable, T3 said in a news article. Keeping the price point at $250, for instance, makes it very attractive considering the Xbox One S and PlayStation 4 Pro are already at $400.
