The New York Jets face off against the San Diego Chargers on October 5 at the Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, CA.

The Jets (1-3) looks to snap their three game losing streak after suffering a 24-17 loss to the Detroit Lions recently, as rumors of backup QB Michael Vick becoming the next Jets starting QB continue to heat up.

Now New York hopes to upset a very dominant Chargers team that features QB Phillip Rivers, who's currently one of the leading candidates to win the NFL MVP award this year.

"Because I believe in him," said Jets head coach Rex Ryan to reporters in reference to his struggling second year QB Geno Smith.

"I believe that we're going to get it done and I believe that he's going to be one of the main reasons we get it done and get it turned. I don't anticipate us as a team continuing to struggle. I think this team needs a win in the worst way, and I think that will help us more than anything. We have guys that believe in each other and I think, to a man, that our team believes in Geno."

Meanwhile, the Chargers are looking to build upon their previous victory versus the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars by 33-14, when San Diego looks to extend their current winning streak to three games.

"If people are making statements like that, it probable means you're playing pretty good,'' said Phillip Rivers to reporters. "[But] it's week-to-week. You can be the best guy in the league one week, and you can be the guy that stunk it up the next week and be the worst guy in the league.''
