OS X Yosemite Details, Features, Requirements and More
The new OS X Yosemite operating system made by Apple Inc has a completely new interface with sharper graphics that Apple says, "feels entirely fresh, yet inherently familiar."
The software upgrade also includes a "completely new relationship between your Mac and [iPhone devices] iOS devices".
OS X Yosemite has new apps and the existing ones are greatly enhanced on Mac and iPhone devices. It is without a shadow of a doubt that this upgrade is well worth it for Apple users worldwide.
The following Mac models are compatible with OS X Yosemite: iMac (2007 or newer), MacBook (Late 2008, Early 2009 or newer), MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer), MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer), Mac Mini (Early 2009 or newer), Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) and Xserve (Early 2009).
Additionally, check your OS X version. If you have OS X Snow Leopard, OS X Lion, OS X Mountain Lion or OS X Mavericks, then you can upgrade to OS X Yosemite. You can find this information by clicking on the Apple icon at the top left of the screen then select "About This Mac" followed by selecting "More Info."
The next step is to download the OS X upgrade. Visit the Mac App Store and select the OS X Yosemite page. Click on the download button then follow the instructions given. For those who are without Internet access, don't fret; carry your Mac to the nearest Apple Retail Store.
The general requirements that the upgrade requires are as follows: OS X v10.6.8 or later, 2GB of memory and 8GB of available storage. However, some features may require an Apple ID and Internet access.
