Patriots Vs. Browns NFL 2016 Predictions, Latest News & Update: Tom Brady Makes Debut Following Four-Game Suspension
With only a few days left before the New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns face off on Sunday, football analysts and enthusiasts are now making their own predictions as to how the match will go.
The New England Patriots (3-1) lost their first game of the season to the Buffalo Bills following a good 3-0 start. But the good news is that, the Patriots are taking on the winless Cleveland Browns (0-4) with starting quarterback Tom Brady making his debut this year, following his previous four-game suspension.
While the New England seemed like the best team in the National Football League over the first three weeks even without Brady, it did not come as a surprise when the team lost a game with a third-string rookie quarterback who was then dealing with a thumb injury. Nobody thought the bunch of Bill Belichick would be a 4-0 heading into the Sunday game, but of all their first four opponents, the Buffalo Bills were the least likely to beat them. That said, the mere presence of Brady is all New England has to cover.
As to why the Cleveland Browns can cover the spread, the team continues to be competitive at times in their losses. Unfortunately, the untimely scores and bad breaks of their opponents have contributed to their 1-3 mark against the spread to go with their four straight losses. The team could have won against Washington Redskins last week but ultimately lost.
According to Odds Shark NFL Database, the Patriots have won five out of their six past meetings with Cleveland. Moreover, the Browns are just 2-10 ATS in their previous 12 games as underdogs.
The game is scheduled on October 9 at the First Energy Stadium.
