Perry Lahaie Appears on Cornerstone TV [LIVE STREAM]
Perry Lahaie was recently a guest on "Real Life", Cornerstone's church television network, where he spoke about his most recent album, "Ahead". Lahaie is better known for being a recording artist with Frontiers, an international community that is dedicated to inviting Muslims to follow Jesus. LaHaie states in his biography that his inspiration for the 11-song collection draws heavily on a quote from Dawson Trotman, the founder of the Navigators: "When you can't see very far ahead, go as far ahead as you can see." The album, "Ahead" was released in March, and is Lahaie's first album since 2008. During the interview on "Real Life", Lahaie performed some songs from his latest album, and talked about the work he has done with Frontiers.
"That's why I sing about reaching the nations and that's why I work with Frontiers," LaHaie says. "Although I cannot always see where my path is leading, God has made this very clear: I am compelled to share the Gospel with those who have never heard it. We are taking the Good News to Muslim people groups that have never had a chance to hear about Jesus. Several of the songs on my new CD are directly related to the mission work I do." Lahaie speaks about his work with Frontiers and new album. The "Ahead" album was encouraged by Grammy-winning engineer and producer Andy Hunt (Jaci Velasquez, Olivia Newton-John), who encouraged LaHaie to explore new sounds and textures that complimented his bold, Americana style. During the interview, Lahaie stated that his music is a 'means to an ends, not an ends to a means', meaning that writing sons for his is more of a blessing, and gift. "We produced this album to inspire people to appreciate the depths of God's grace, and to recognize the responsibility and privilege of taking that grace to the nations. The love of Christ compels us to go." To watch the full episode of Cornestone's Church interview with Perry Lahaie on "Real Life", go here.
