'Pokemon Go' Update: Niantic Offers Christmas Event; 100 Pokemon Monsters Will Be Released
The latest news on the "Pokemon GO" should make fans giddy as Mewto, Snorlax and Articuno are now reportedly easier to catch as part of Niantic's Christmas event.
Apart from that, there will allegedly also new 100 Pokemon monsters that will be released.
If this news is true, then the "Pokemon GO" Christmas event-which will run from Dec. 20 to Dec. 27-will even be bigger compared to the Halloween update and the Thanksgiving event.
According to the report, Niantic may focus on releasing ice types in keeping with the chilly Christmas air. Also, the spawns in ice type monsters will also get a boost in addition to getting double candies in order to catch, transfer and hatch Pokemons.
In other news, Niantic introduced a recent update for "Pokemon GO" that will now allow fans to cut the amount of training at the gyms. Reportedly, the training rewards are now back to their original structure.
Just last month, Niantic changed the algorithm in terms of awarding prestige points in the gym. Instead of the usual 1,000 points, the tweak now cut the number to just half. Just doing the simple month, it now takes twice the amount of hours you spend to strengthen the gym. That got a lot of "Pokemon GO" players flustered as they flooded the forums and Reddit to complaint about the change.
This latest piece of news was confirmed by Niantic in a tweet which read, "Trainers, the amount of Prestige gained when training at friendly Gyms has been reverted back to the original values."
