Pokemon X and Y: Pokemon Bank Removed from eShop After Japanese Launch Crashes Nintendo Servers

Pokemon X and Y has hit another slight snag as the launch of Pokemon Bank has not gone as smoothly as planned.

Yesterday the new app that lets gamers transfer their Pokemon to online cloud storage was launched in Japan, but was soon taken down after a number of server issues.

The sudden influx of users trying to access Pokemon Bank is also what helped crash the entire online Nintendo server across the Wii U and 3DS. The sudden wave of people entering into the the eShop have rendered online unusable.

According to Polygon, Pokemon Bank has been removed from the eShop with no indication as to when it will be back online. They do note that the free 30 day trial begins again when the app is placed back in the store.

Pokemon Bank is scheduled to make its debut in North America and Europe on December 27, however, those dates have been changed to, "To be decided."

Nintendo also released the following statement:?"Intermittently unable to connect currently, due to a high concentration of people trying to access the service. We apologise for the inconvenience, and thank you for your patience."

The gaming company suggests to follow their Twitter to keep checking for updates and to be patient as they are fixing everything.

"Most updated information on Nintendo Network ID (NNID) creation issue - http://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2389/p/430" their last Tweet read.
