Rae Dawn Chong Revises N-Word Comments on Oprah; Still Stands By What Was Said

And now another case of celebrity of heart.

After airing out her opinion of Oprah Winfrey, Rae Dawn Chong has sort of seen the error of her ways and come out to defend her labeling the media mogul as a "field n****r".

In a new video obtained by TMZ, Chong says her use of the N-word was a compliment for Oprah rather than an insult. In fact, Chong regrets using the N-word at all on her former "The Color Purple" co-star. Despite this, Chong does not apologize for her comments.

"I just want to say. Out of context, it's a most unfortunate choice of words and I regret it," the entertainer stated while blaming TMZ for taking a portion of her interview on "Matty P's Radio Happy Hour" which contained the controversial comments. "In context, I was actually complementing Oprah. So if you get a chance you should listen to the whole interview."

The 1 minute and 22 second video comes hours after the "Radio Happy Hour" chat. During the interview, the actress made no secret of her feelings for Lady O as she went in on everything from Oprah's weight to her ability to be a "great brown noser." Still, Chong acknowledged Oprah's accomplishments and said that Oprah was "lovely" to her when they worked on "The Color Purple." However, things took a downward between them turn when Chong went on to co-star with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the action film "Commando."

"Do I have issues with her? Yes. Am I perfect? No. Do I take back everything I said? No," Chong said in the video. "Am I in pain that it's caused pain to me, to her. Yes," Chong further stated. "I'm in pain about it too because taken out of context it sounds really bad. In context, I was actually complimenting Oprah. That's all I gotta say about it."

So what do you make of this? Do you believe Miss Chong or has she dug a hole too deep to get out of?
