'Rainbow Six Siege' DLC Latest News, Update: Japanese Character Teased In ‘Operator Echo’

Ubisoft has teased a Japanese character in the "Rainbow Six Siege" DLC "Operator Echo."

Masaru Enatsu, a member of the Japanese Special Assault Team or S.A.T., hails from Suginami City in Tokyo and while people may not be familiar with the name, it's actually a real area with a population of more than 500,000 people.

It's also the headquarters of a lot of animation studios in Japan such as Bones ("Darker than Black, "Fullmetal Alchemist" and "Wolf's Rain ") and Sunrise ("Gundam," "Cross Ange: Rondo of Angel and Dragon" and (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion"), among many others.

"After completing his bachelor's degree at Tokyo Metropolitan University, Enatsu joined the National Police Academy," the description on the "Rainbow Six Siege" DLC read. "He was then recruited by the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department Special Unit before transferring to the Aichi Unit."

According to Farah Daoud-Brixi, the writer for "Rainbow Six Siege," the new DLC gave them a platform to showcase the many technological advances in top-secret military hardware. While not all of the tech are real, she said that they nevertheless had to stretch their imagination in order to integrate the tools and gadgets into the story.

She also shared the news about the "Rainbow Six Siege" DLC will include the MP5SD4 and SuperNova as the primary weapons, while the secondary weapons include the P229 and the PM9, which showcases the expertise of the S.A.T. agents for close quarter battles.
