'Ray Donovan' Season 3 Renewed or Canceled? Showtime Releases Promo Clip - 12 New Episodes [VIDEO]
Showtime recently released a promotional video announcing that 'Ray Donovan', the popular crime drama series, will return for a third season.
The new 'Ray Donovan' Season 3 promotional clip runs for roughly 18 seconds and features Ray (Liev Schreiber), Mickey (Jon Voight) and Abby (Paula Malcomson). As the teaser video progresses, a male voice-over is heard in the backdrop saying, "You don't know who you are anymore, Ray."
On that note, a recent report claims that 'Ray Donovan' Season 3 will run for 12 episodes, and in an interview, David Nevins, president of Showtime, said that the upcoming season will be packed with complex and interesting characters with a view to showcase "compelling television to look forward to for seasons to come."
While Showtime has yet to make an official announcement regarding the Season 3 premiere, Bustle predicts that the series will be back in July 2015.
This has been deduced from the fact that the last two seasons of 'Ray Donovan' also premiered around that time of the year. It is expected that the cast and crew of the show will be back in Calabasas in early 2015 to commence filming for the third season.
Meanwhile, it is expected that the original cast of the show will be retained in Season 3 as well. The show features Jon Voight as Mickey Donovan and Ray's father.
Katherine Moennig will reprise the role of Lena, the PR agent that works for Ray Donovan, Steven Bauer will portray the character of Avi, Ray's most trusted friend and his right-hand and Kerris Dorsey in the role of Bridget, Ray's daughter.
In addition, to the original cast members of the show, fans will also see some new actors and actresses who will add more spice and twists to the plot of the show in Season 3.
'Ray Donovan' Season 2 finale was aired on Sunday, Sept. 27 at 8 pm ET/PT on Showtime.
