Razor & Tie Music Publishing Writer Catt Gravitt Is Honored As Sesac 2012 Nashville Music Awards Songwriter Of The Year
Razor & Tie Music Publishing writer Catt Gravitt has received the prestigious 2012 SESAC Nashville Music Award for Songwriter of the Year. Kicking off CMA Week last night, the Performing Rights Organization (PRO) and the SESAC Nashville Awards last night honored the top songwriters and publishers in the Country and Americana genres.
Gravitt recently celebrated the success of her song "Alone With You" performed by country singer Jake Owen. The song spent two weeks in the #1 spot on the Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart and is Gold having sold over 891,000 tracks according to Nielsen SoundScan. Nashville-based Gravitt co-wrote "Alone With You" with writers Shane McAnally and JT Harding and it was recorded by Jake Owen for his album Barefoot Blue Jean Night. This song is Owen's second consecutive #1 single.
Catt Gravitt has a bevy of other songs currently charting: Her song "Why Ya Wanna" as performed by country singer and One Tree Hill star Jana Kramer peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart after being on the chart for 41 weeks. This song also broke a number of records climbing to the Country Aircheck/Mediabase radio chart Top 30 faster than any debut single in history and the song made Kramer the most-added debut artist in the history of the same chart. Catt also wrote Jana's second single "Whiskey" that is being released November 5th. The talented songwriter's song "Honestly" appears on Kelly Clarkson's hit album Stronger and Gravitt also has two songs on Adam Lamberts album Trespassing.
