Real Housewives actress/reality star [whatever you want to call it] NeNe Leakes is in the hospital due to what doctors believe to be blood clots in her lungs.

To clue fans in on her status, the TV personality posted a photo of herself sitting upright in a hospital bed with her arms attached to IV's.

"Thanks 4 tuning into RHOA 2nite! I have been very sick for the past couple of days but I wanted 2 Thank my tweetie pies."

With the overwhelming reaction from her 1.3 million Twitter followers, NeNe posted an explanation on her website of why she was in the hospital.

"Late last week I wasn't feeling well and was feeling a little short of breath," she wrote. "I know my body and I know when I should be concerned so I went to the hospital to get checked out."

After testing it was revealed that Leakes had developed blood clots in her lungs. According to doctors, the pressures of having to travel around the country and the stress of her career caused the condition. Luckily Leakes will most likely avoid serious symptoms due to having the issue diagnosed early. 

"I'm thankful to be alive as the doctor advised me that most people don't recognize the symptoms of blood clots and don't go to the doctor and that's when the big problems start happening," NeNe posted on her website.
