The Cardinals have the best record in the MLB and lead the Reds in the NL Central by 3 games. It'll be a great pitcher's duel from Cincinnati tonight. Adam Wainwright is getting the start for the Cardinals against the red hot Reds ace Mike Leake.

Wainwright's numbers are sick. The Cardinals pitcher is 8-3 with a 2.33 ERA and coming off three straight victories. In his last outing against the San Francisco Giants [one of the better hitting teams in the MLB] he pitched a complete game. Before missing all of 2011 with a shoulder injury, Wainwright won a combined total of 39 games over two seasons. Wainwright is a sick pitcher that won't overpower you but always has movement on his pitches.

Reds pitcher Mike Leake isn't backing down. Leake so far is 5-2 with a 2.75 ERA. Leake had six scoreless innings in his last start against NL Central rivals, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and has won four in a row. In his last 27 innings, Leake has only allowed one earned run. With his variety of pitches [the cutter, the curve and sinker] is almost a mirror image of Adam Wainwright.

The Cardinals are number three in the league against right-handed pitching and the Reds are number five. It looks like tonight will feature great pitching against great hitting.

Tune in to see the St. Louis Cardinals take on the Cincinnati Reds tonight at 7:10 PM ET on ESPN.
