'Rez Infinite' News: Game To Manipulate Senses Of Sight, Hearing In PS VR?
New details on the PlayStation VR version of United Game Artists' "Rez Infinite" have surfaced.
According to Ars Technica, "Rez Infinite's" Area X showcases a major change and it is the total free-roaming in the outer-space sight-and-sound exploration. As per the publication, the game feature allows players to look and float wherever they want and the characters and light designs will just follow and respond accordingly.
It is added that the game's new level's power source has improved, as evidenced with enhanced particle effects that comprise a number of designs that float and appear in game.
Meanwhile, Enhance Games President and CEO Tetsuya Mizuguchi spoke his thoughts about Area X. In a statement, as cited by the PlayStation blog, he said that it was a new level that they had added just for "Rez Infinite," adding that it was an experiment.
"Area X is Rez, but it's also not Rez... it's something new," Miziguchi said.
As per the CEO, Area X shares some similarities with the conventional "Rez," as it aims a "focused" and "replayable" experience that utilizes plain shooting techniques to exceute an effect called synesthesia, in which one could perceive something with one sense triggering another sense like seeing sounds or hearing colors.
For Miziguchi, the goal was to create something that had evoked the same thrill as "Rez" while being unique, new, and special all its own.
"Rez Infinite" is set to arrive on Oct. 13.
