Rihanna got a new tattoo!

While on her Diamonds tour in New Zealand, Rihanna decided to get a Maori tattoo. In case you didn't know a Maori tattoo has to be drawn using a chisel, ink pigment and a mallet.

Ouch!

Rihanna cites her love for New Zealand's Kiwi traditions and celebratory culture as the inspiration for the tattoo.

RiRi is one touch chick. She posted a video of her getting the tattoo online. Though the "Stay" singer is in obvious pain, she finds a way to laugh and smile at the camera.

By the end of the process she's visibly in pain as the artist pegs in the final touches of her tattoo. Understandably so, she's covered in blood by the team Inia Taylor, the artist responsible for putting Rihanna in such pain, is finished.

Ha, but seriously I love New Zealand as much as the next pop icon, but mallets and chisels! I know my street cred is lacking these days but Rihanna has all my respect.
