Rodney Harrison Says Vikings QB Josh Freeman is Faking His Concussion / Character Assassination From Former Patriots Safety?

Former NFL safety and current NBC football analyst Rodney Harrison isn't buying the concussion claims that newly acquired Vikings quarterback Josh Freeman is selling.

After a disastrous 23-7 loss and start in purple team reports indicated Freeman was being diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms. The former hard-hitting New England safety believes Freeman is lying to get out of a bad situation in Minnesota.

"Maybe's he's looking around and saying, 'You know, maybe Greg Jennings isn't as good as I thought ... Adrian Peterson is struggling. Heck, I just want out of this situation, I can't wait for the end of the season,'" Harrison said. "I played safety at a high level for a long time and I was bangin' and I never missed a game because of a concussion, so it just seems like an excuse to me."

Harrison backtracks a little bit in his interview with NBC Sports Radio via Awful Announcing.

"I'm not trying to doubt the seriousness of his injury if he has one, but it just seems like a convenient excuse to get out of a situation. That's what it seems like."

Is Harrison going too far downplaying would could be a very serious injury, especially in an era of player safety that treats concussions like a gunshot to the brain.

Is Harrison's analysis unbiased journalism or just character assassination.

Either way, Josh Freeman's nightmare is far from over.
