The Giants (1-1) defends versus the Royals in Game 2 of the 2014 World Series, when Giants veteran starter Tim Hudson (9-13, 3.57) is slated to pitch on Friday.

The Giants were defeated the Royals by a final score of 7-2 in Game 2 of the Fall Classic after Kansas City scored five runs in the sixth inning, highlighted by veteran second baseman Omar Infante's two home run.

"With their pitching and our pitching, and the way both teams play, we're going to have a fight, I think, every game," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy to reporters.

"For us to leave here with a split, you like to get greedy, but we know it's going to be a tough series."

Like the Giants, the Royals (1-1) are attempting to take a 2-1 lead in the final series of 2014 MLB playoffs.

Royals starter Jeremy Guthrie (13-11, 4.13) hopes to ignite his team to the victory on the grandest stage of professional baseball on Friday night.

Kansas City First baseman/DH Billy Butler is hoping his squad can extend their winning streak on the road in 'The City by the Bay'.

"We showed them that we have fight in us, and I think they knew that already," said Butler to reporters, "But we stepped up big there as a team, and that gave us some confidence."
