Russel Brand Stars in New Movie 'Paradise' Alongside Julianne Hough, Nick Offerman & Octavia Spencer 

Julianne Hough stars alongside Russell Brand and Octavia Spencer in the upcoming movie Paradise. 

The first teaser trailer has been released for the movie and the general story seems pretty easy to catch on to. Lamb (Julianne Hough) survives a plane crash where she is seriously injured. She was brought up in a very conservative Christian household and starts to question things in her life and wants to experience things she has not yet. 

She travels to Las Vegas and plans to lose her innocence in various forms and experience things she has never been allowed to do when she meets (Octavia Spencer) and (Russell Brand) who are more than happy to help her in her journey. This could end up good or bad for her depending on your view of things most likely. 

Of course they leave it open ended on if she realizes her life was good the way she had it or if she thinks she was missing out on things and ends up living in a new way.

Hollywood always seems to want to paint all Christians as completely backwards people, which of course is true in some cases, but they rarely show a Christian with a good balance of faith while still understanding how to be culturally relevant in society. With that said, that is just a personal note and we will have to wait for this movie to come out see what happens. 

Diablo Cody (Oscar-winning screenwriter of Juno and Young Adult) is making her directorial debut with the movie Paradise. 

With her screenplay in the 2007 Oscar-winning Juno, Diablo Cody has had a string of success with screenplays for Jennifer's Body and Young Adult. Cody also created the series United States of Tara on Showtime. 

Paradise is scheduled for release to theaters on October 18th in the U.S.
