Ryan Braun Suspended Rest of MLB 2013 for Violating Steroids Policy / Expected to Lose $3 Million from Contract

In other baseball news, the MLB has just suspended Milwaukee Brewers slugger Ryan Braun for the rest of the 2013 for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.
The Brewers have 65 games left in the regular season, they'll now have to play without the star outfielder. Of his $8.5 million salary, Braun is expected to lose close to $3 million.
"As I have acknowledged in the past, I am not perfect. I realize now that I have made some mistakes," Braun said in a statement on the team's website. "I am willing to accept the consequences of those actions. This situation has taken a toll on me and my entire family, and it is has been a distraction to my teammates and the Brewers organization. I am very grateful for the support I have received from players, ownership and the fans in Milwaukee and around the country. Finally, I wish to apologize to anyone I may have disappointed - all of the baseball fans especially those in Milwaukee, the great Brewers organization, and my teammates. I am glad to have this matter behind me once and for all, and I cannot wait to get back to the game I love."
First word of Braun's PED violation came back in January when the Miami New Times published documents claiming Braun, along with high-profile MLB stars such as Alex Rodriguez, Melky Cabrera and Bartolo Colon were connecting to an "anti-aging" facility called Biogenesis, where Braun, along with the others indicted used growth hormones and anabolic steroids.
