Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Unveils 5.7 Inch Display, 13MP Camera Available Sept 25, Galaxy Gear Smartwatch Also Launched New York City
Samsung took over Times Square in downtown New York City today for the IFA technology tradeshow that would be the launch event for the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
The Galaxy Gear has a 3-inch display that runs on Android 4.3 and is compatible with your phone. The watch is 11.1 mm thick and only weighs 73.8 grams (2.6 ounces). The watch face is 1.63-inch Super AMOLED panel display and has a 1.9MP camera capable of capturing 720p video.
The Galaxy Note 3 we unveiled boasting a 5.7-inch display which is 2 inches bigger than the Galaxy Note 2. The phone is 8.3mm thick and weighs 168 grams. It comes with a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 or 1.9Hz Exynos Octa CPU with 3GB of Ram.
The Galaxy Note 3 will be available in 3 colors black, white and pink. The rear camera is a high 13MP with optical image stabilization for HD video recording. The is a newly designed S-pen that allows you to control certain features by just hovering the pen over the phone.
It will include 'magic barcode tech' allowing users to store gift cards, loyalty cards and coupons on the Galaxy Note 3. Apple included this 'passbook' feature in iPhone 4's.
The Galaxy Note 3 will ship in 32GB and 64GB versions globally starting Sept. 25. It will release on 5 U.S. carriers coming in October.
