Samsung Galaxy S6 Release Date, Specs, Rumors: New Device Likely to Launch in March-April 2015? Features Curved Screen?
While the focus of many tech enthusiasts currently rests on the recently released iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, those who are not Apple fans, eagerly await the launch of the latest Android based smartphones.
Google fans are definitely looking forward to the release of the highly-anticipated Nexus 6 or Nexus 9, while Samsung fans are eagerly waiting for the release of the company's upcoming flagship smartphone, Galaxy S6.
It has been almost a year since Samsung released Galaxy S5, and by the current standards, the device is somewhat outdated. Therefore, consumers are looking forward to something new from Samsung.
While the Korean tech firm has yet to make any official announcement regarding the release date of Galaxy S6, Samsung usually follows an annual pattern for its releases. This time around, Samsung is mostly likely going to spring it on anxious consumers, as usual.
However, Samsung has been releasing devices from the Galaxy S line (from the S2 to the S5) during or close to the MWC. This leads some to believe that the Galaxy S6 will be unveiled at next year's event.
In 2015, MWC is slated to be held between March 2 and March 5. It is likely that the Galaxy S6 will be unveiled around that time and subsequently released one month later. Hence, it is expected that Galaxy S6 would be released sometime in March or in April 2015.
In terms of features, especially its hardware, the Galaxy S6 may come with QHD screens after its competitor LG released the G3 with a 2560 x 1440 QHD display. Moreover, as Samsung has retained its Super AMOLED screens, they may also be used for the Galaxy S6. On that note, and according to rumors, the Galaxy S6 will have a curved screen or a flexible display.
It is also expected that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 will run on a 64-bit chipset, as Android L will sport 64-bit support. In all probability, the Galaxy S6 will be powered with either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 or an 810 processor, as both are 64-bit.
It is speculated that the GPU of Galaxy S6 will be an Adreno 430, which is reported to be 30 percent faster when compared to the Adreno 420.
As far as the RAM is concerned, the Galaxy S6 may possibly go as high as 4GB to support the 64-bit processor. Nevertheless, as the recently released Galaxy Note 4 only has 3GB RAM, it is possible that the Galaxy S6 will also boast the same.
