Samsung Gear S3 Release Date, Specs, Price News: Smartwatch Launch For North America Next Month?
The Samsung Gear S3 release date is reported to be next month in the US and Canada, according to the latest rumors on the smart watch.
North America will reportedly get first dibs on the wearable before it will launch in major cities in Europe.
According to Korea Times, "We decided to market the Gear S3 midway through November at the latest in Korea and some other countries. In China, the timepiece will be launched later."
The news reports are silent on the specific release date for the Samsung Gear S3, but TechTimes pointed to a posting from the Best Buy Canada about the device launching on Nov. 8. It should be noted, however, that there's no confirmation yet on the date from the South Korean manufacturing firm so it's better to take this with a grain of salt.
In related news, the Samsung Gear S3 will still be run by Tizen OS. It's not clear how people will react to this bit of information since everybody loved everything about the S2, from the hardware and design, except the OS.
Initial reports claimed the Samsung Gear S3 will come in two different models, the Frontier and the Classic. In terms of functionality, there's no different between two devices. They both feature a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED round face display. The glass is Gorilla SR+
However, in terms of design the two smart phones are quite distinctive. Whereas the Classic is more elegant with its leather strap, the Frontier is much more rugged-looking with rubber band.
Pre-order is available now, and the price for Samsung Gear S3 is at £349 ($400-$450) in UK and $469 in Canada.
There should be more news on the Samsung Gear S3 as the release date draws near. We will have them all for you.
