Samsung Gear S3 Release Date, Specs, Price News, Rumors: Thicker Design Could Turn Off Female Buyers?

Preorder for the US market is already available for the Samsung Gear S3 ahead of the release date of Nov. 18. The wearable is already reported to be thicker and bigger compared to the S2, and some pundits said that this could turn off some female buyers.

The preorder has been available in the UK for quite some time, but it was only opened to the US market on Nov. 8.

For the Gear S3, Samsung partnered with Yvan Arpa to create two distinct watches-the Classic, which is meant for business people, and the Frontier, which is directed toward the more rugged adventurer-that are elegant yet functional.

Digital Trends said that the Gear S3 is 46mm in diameters and also quite thicker. Whereas the article noted that the S2 was about the perfect size for both men and women alike, the larger smart watch is a "step backward" for Samsung. But there's an upside to the bigger face as the wearable can sport a larger battery.

It said that no matter how the South Korean company is marketing the product, the Samsung Gear S3 "is made for men" and they are expected to come in droves during the release date.

According to CNET, the Samsung Gear S3 will be available at Amazon, Best Buy, Macy's and its own website during the Nov. 18 release date. Both the Classic and Frontier model are priced at $350, but different carriers offer various promos on installment rates so it's better to shop around before making a decision.
