Samsung plans to release the Galaxy Note 8 in the United States on Aug. 24 according to rumors posted on the U.S. online community site Reddit. The rumored release date is the day following the unpacking event in New York on Aug. 23 which was announced in a Samsung Mobile teaser video.

The Reddit poster claims that the source was confirmed by a Best Buy Mobile employee through both Verizon and Samsung channels.

In the meantime, several Korean IT and technology media outlets reported that Galaxy Note 8 is likely to be released in the country on Sept. 15 by pre-booking on Sept. 1. The rumored release date, Aug. 24 could be a pre-booking date rather than release date in the U.S..

So far, the Galaxy Note 8 specs has been rumored to include a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED Infiniti display, an Axis 8895 or Snapdragon 835, a 6 GB RAM, a 12-megapixel dual camera with optical zoom, a 3300 mAh battery, the intelligent secretary service Bixby, and an enhanced S-Pen.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is also equipped with Bixby, an AI (artificial intelligence) secretary which was first featured on the Galaxy S8 series. Recently, Bixby Voice' English service was officially launched in the U.S. and Korea, and Galaxy Note 8 was released with the application of English service.

The Galaxy Note 8 will be equipped with Samsung's Exynos 8895 and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835. Memory capacity is expected to come in three different sizes; 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.

In particular, the 'S Pen'-which is the main trademark of the Galaxy Note series-is likely to have a built-in speaker. As for price, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is estimated to cost around $1,000 according to rumors.

In addition, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is said to be the first Galaxy series to be equipped with a dual camera on the back.
