'Scandal' Season 3 Spoilers: Kerry Washington Says Season 3 Will Not Be "Too Obvious" / Episode 1 Premiere Date October 3

Scandal is set to premiere Episode 1 of Season 3 on Thursday, October 3 at 10 PM. The popular ABC drama is sure to provide us all with a good dose of kinky political thrills.

Between Season 3 of Scandal and a new batch of episodes from the hospital smash Grey's Anatomy, series creator Shonda Rhimes had a few minutes to share some spoilers regarding season 3.

"They have some big challenges on their hands right there. I think Cyrus is busy trying not to have a heart attack, which I also fully understand. It's going to be difficult for him to deal with. It's going to be difficult for all of them. We're going to see some stuff that I hope will be surprising."

Scandal star Kerry Washington, who plays the president's mistress Olivia Pope denied rumors that it was Mellie's character who exposed the affair, citing that storyline as "too obvious."

"Mellie got [Fitz] back at the end, so I don't know why she would do that." 

In her interview with TV Guide, Rhimes didn't reveal too much about Season 3, but it has been confirmed that the president's reelection will play a big part in the Season 3 arc.

Scandal Season 3 is set to premiere Thursday night, October 3 on ABC.
