Scotty McCreery Graduates From High School After Win at CMT Music Awards
Scotty McCreery snagged his first CMT Music Awards in the category for Breakthrough Music Video of the Year on Wednesday night (June 6) and immediately took a flight home for his high school graduation Thursday (June 7) morning. It has been a busy and blessed year for this young country crooner.
After taking home the title as the "America Idol" of Season 10 last year, McCreery stepped back into a normal life as a high school kid who plays baseball at Garner Magnet High School in Raleigh, NC. Today (June 7) marks that special milestone for him as he says goodbye to the teenage years and looks on towards college and a growing musical career.
"I've enjoyed these last 4 years.. wouldn't trade any of them for the world #iamatrojan," tweeted McCreety.
McCreery is not considering to move away from home yet. Nashville, which is known as the music capital of the world and the place to be for musicians, may be the next destination for McCreery after he matures and learns more about the business.
He continues to wear his signature cross necklace as a symbol of his commitment to Christ. It makes its appearance inside of the music video for "The Trouble With Girls" which won him his first CMT Music Award.
