International superstar singer and dancer, Shakira and Barcelona defender Gerard Pique welcomed their first son, Milan Pique Mebarak into the world Tuesday at Teknon Hospital in Barcelona at 9:30 pm. The baby reportedly weighed close to 6 pounds, 6 ounces and currently both the baby and mother are in good health.

Shakira, 35, has been tweeting constantly since October, showing off tummy photos, eager for baby Milan to arrive. Yesterday Shakira tweeted to her fans in English and Spanish:

"I'd like to ask you all to accompany me in your prayers on this very important day of my life. Shak."

When asked in November by RAC1, a Catalan radio station, the famous Spanish football star admitted he is very excited, but composed and ready to handle the responsibility.

"I've experienced [the pregnancy] with the same ease with which I try to live everything. Although everyone tells me that will change when he's born because my life will be different," 25-year old Pique told RAC1.

Fellow football great, Sergio "Kun" Aguero doesn't know whom the baby will resemble more. On Twitter, the Manchester City striker posted, "Welcome Milan Pique Mebarak! What gift would you like for the baby? A mic or some cleats?"
