A dozen years in, the Chicago-based ensemble known as Shekinah Glory Ministry (SGM) continues to dominate and set the standard for urban praise and worship music. They've made chants such as "Praise is What I Do" and "Jesus" universally known tunes that choirs around the globe sing every Sunday morning. With five RIAA gold and platinum record and video certifications behind them, this coterie of psalmists, minstrels and banner-wavers are poised to strike gold again with their fourth original CD, Surrender (Kingdom Records,) that hits stores on September 25, 2012.

Those living in the Chicago area can witness the dynamic ensemble performing songs from the new album in a special CD release concert taking place, Wednesday, September 26 @ 7 p.m. at Valley Kingdom Ministries International (VKMI), 5300 W. 151^st Street, Oak Forest, IL 60452. Admission is free. Ms. Darryll King, the legendary radio announcer from WYCA 102.3 FM in the Chicago area, will host the evening. Gospel luminaries such as The Brown Sisters, Kim Stratton (whom performs the riveting ballad "Broken" on the project) and Maurice Griffin will all perform during the celebration.

The thirteen-track CD was recorded this past April at VKMI where the group delivered another set of soul-stirring original songs that kept the capacity audience on its feet most of the night with hands lifted towards the heavens in praise. Danielle Nightingale Cargo leads the rousing new radio single, "Champion," that is quickly catching on with gospel radio programmers like Brodric Purvis. The Louisville, KY-based announcer says, "My listeners love the song. We're playing it like crazy here."

Shekinah Glory Ministry made its mark with the 2001 gold-selling CD, "Praise is What I Do." Its name means, "the glorified presence of God."
