Sixstepsrecords Celebrates 7 Dove Award Wins
sixstepsrecords is celebrating seven totals wins atlast night's 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards out of their impressive 17 nominations. Leading the pack is two-time GRAMMY® winner Matt Redman with six total wins including "Song of the Year" for his powerful GRAMMY® award winning anthem "10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)." GRAMMY® winner Chris Tomlin also picked up two wins, including the "Praise & Worship Album of the Year" for his Billboard No. 1 album Burning Lights.
Redman picked up an impressive six total awards of his nine GMA Dove Award nominations. His accolades include "Songwriter of the Year" and "Song of the Year" for "10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)." Redman also took home awards for "Contemporary Christian Performance of the Year," "Pop/Contemporary Song of the Year" and "Praise & Worship Song of the Year."
In addition to the individual wins, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Crowder, Kristian Stanfill, Christy Nockels, Brett Younker and Kari Jobe are celebrating their win for Passion: Let The Future Begin in the "Special Event Album of the Year" category. The album was recorded live earlier this year at the Passion 2013 conference in Atlanta, GA. The seven Dove Award wins further emphasize an impressive year for the sixstepsrecords team. Earlier this year, Redman was awarded his first GRAMMY® awards - one as an artist, one as a songwriter - winning in the category of Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance in addition to Best Contemporary Christian Music Song for his hugely popular hit, "10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)." In addition to the wins, Tomlin was given his eighth career GRAMMY® nod with a nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song for "White Flag."
Also this year, Redman took home the Billboard Music Award for "10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord)" while Tomlin was named the Male Artist of the Year at the 1st annual K-LOVE Fan Awards and received an American Music Award nomination for Favorite Artist - Contemporary/Inspirational. The year started with a historical bang as Tomlin's album Burning Lights became only the fourth Christian music album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards was held last night at Lipscomb University's Allen Arena in Nashville, Tenn. The entire event will be televised exclusively on UP! Television Network on Monday, October 21 at 8:00 PM ET.
