"Sleepy Hollow" TV Show Review 2013: Can "Sleepy Hollow" Live Up to the Standard Set By "Buffy?" [ONLINE STREAMING]

The new FOX TV show "Sleepy Hollow" premiered on Monday September 16th to positive reviews. The pilot episode, which was written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (both known for working with J.J. Abrams on "Fringe), set audiences up with a new take on the old Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The premiere episode began in 1781 with a fantastic duel between Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman and ended in present day with Crane walking around in Sleepy Hollow.

Soon after, Ichabod runs into a local cop named Abbie Mills who is just about to leave Sleepy Hollow for some more police training. One of the strong points of the show is the reaction that the citizens of Sleepy Hollow have towards Ichabod's physical appearance. They don't overplay their surprise at the way he looks and seem to react in a very realistic way towards Crane.

Tom Mison, who has chosen to play Crane as a classical, masculine hero instead of a lovable, bumbling goof, fits well side by side with Nicole Beharie who plays Abbie Mills. This works well because the two seem natural together and do not force any dialogue throughout the pilot. Will they solve the mystery of Sleepy Hollow? Stay tuned to find out!
