The Snapchat Spectacles have hogged the headlines of news outlets, particularly the exorbitant prices the limited supply is selling online.

Lucky users who managed to snag a pair appear to have hit a goldmine based on the cost of reselling the item on eBay, Amazon and other online auction sites. By paying just $130 and, of course, being fortunate enough to be at the right place at a right time, they can get returns for their investment a hundredfold.

According to this news article CNBC, the Snapchat Spectacles have turned up on eBay and being offered for as much as $5,000. The markup in the price translates to about 3,746%.

This would be the highest price tag for the video recording device. Previous reports have revealed that a pair can be purchased online for $2,000.

In related news, the vending machine that dispenses Snapchat Spectacles reportedly turned up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, following California's Venice Beach in LA and Big Sur. The exact location was near Blue Whale of Catoosa on Route 66.

Of course, by the time this article sees print, that vending machine would be empty. Each dispenser has about 200 pairs, but they sell out in minutes and the snaking lines can stretch to a considerable distance. It's not clear how many of those who queued are there just to make a quick buck judging from the profits they can make when they resell the glasses online.
