From 1996 through 2001, Matthew was part of the group called Marawdaz. Matthew was known under the name 'Suicide'. Matthew's life at that time looked great, he was enjoying his career and all the fan fare included. Yet all that, left profound emptiness within Matthew.
In 2001, Matthew surrendered his life to Jesus Christ, resigned from the band Marawdaz, and dropped his alias name 'Suicide'. Although the transition wasn't easy, Matthew being born again became St. Matthew - meaning a gospel defender.
