Porn Star Teacher, Stacie Halas Fired After Losing Appeal
Stacy Halas, a Californian teacher with a porn star past was fired after losing her appeal to return to the classroom. The 32-year old science teacher at Haydock Intermediate School in Oxnard, California was on administrative leave from her job in March after students and teachers discovered her participation in several X-Rated videos on the Internet.
In the 46-page decision by the Commission on Professional Competence, Judge Julie Cabos-Owen wrote the following:
"Although [Halas'] pornography career has concluded, the ongoing availability of her pornographic materials on the internet will continue to impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague," the Associated Press reports.
Former vice principal, Wayne Saddler testified that, Halas even pretends to be a teacher in the beginning of one her sex videos. He felt once the school discovered the movies and images she could no longer act as an effective, positive role model for children or maintain the necessary level of respect from school officials and staff members.
"We even had kids who were referring to her by her stage name [Tiffany Six] in class, from catcalls in the back," Oxnard Unified School District spokesman, Thomas DeLapp told CBS Los Angeles in October.
While the school and court insist Halas was continually deceitful about her nine-month career in the adult entertainment industry, her attorney Richard Schwab defends Halas as a victim embarrassed by her past.
"Miss Halas is more than just an individual fighting for her job as a teacher," he said Tuesday. "I think she's representative of a lot of people who may have a past that may not involve anything illegal or anything that hurts anybody."
