'Star Trek Discovery' Cast News: Series Creator Bryan Fuller Describes Next Series In Three Words

Last week, "Star Trek: Discovery" beamed up its first batch of cast members. Despite the announcement, however, very little is still known about the highly-anticipated series.

In a recent interview, series creator Bryan Fuller recently shared some juicy details about the upcoming series.

Asked to describe "Star Trek: Discovery" in three words, Fuller said, "I think what we were doing with 'Star Trek' was...I'd say, 'Understand Each Other."

The series creator said he's curious to see how the story of the new "Star Trek" series unfolds. Fuller revealed that since he won't be so much involved in the series going forward because of his involvement in "American Gods," he was not very sure about what would happen to the story. Fuller, however, confirmed that he submitted stories for the entire season.

"You know, it's interesting to ponder, because I won't have anything to do with the actual production, and I won't have anything to do with post, which are really places where I dig in and do a lot of work," he said.

Meanwhile, it was previously confirmed that "Star Trek: Discovery" would star Michelle Yeoh as the Captain of the Starship Shenzhou. Other members of its cast include Anthony Rapp and Doug Jones, who will play Science Officer Lt. Stamets and Lieutenant Saru.

As the set construction for "Star Trek: Discovery" is reportedly wrapping up within the next few months, filming is expected to kick off in the first quarter of 2017.

"Star Trek: Discovery" will be released in spring next year on CBS All Access.
