'Star Wars 7' Rumors: Episode VII Script Due in January According to Disney but Still No Cast Confirmations

Will the upcoming Star Wars 7 movie have a script finalized in January. Though I'm sure a penned plot would make an excellent Christmas gift for Disney,

According to Los Angeles-based journalist for Daily Variety: "Disney expects to get script for Star Wars 7 in January. No budget for movie although studio wouldn't be surprised if it costs $200 million." And "Disney expects a Star Wars related movie (including spin offs) every year from Lucasfilm. #StarWars."

The tweet comes after speaking with Disney chairman Alan Horn who confirmed director J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan are scheduled to turn in the screenplay for Episode VII shortly after New Years.

As for casting rumors, Benedict Cumberbatch, who worked with Abrams on the last Star Trek movie revealed on Conan O'Brien recently that he would be interested in playing a part in the upcoming installment.

"Yeah, it started with me with sort of...I just sort of would leave casual messages on his phone as a light saber. I thought he thought he was getting bad cell reception or something," said Cumberbatch. "Then, I even went on a chat show and auditioned for Chewbacca. I sat next to Harrison Ford and did my audition."

Though rumors have been swirling out of control on the Internet about possible plot lines and possible actors, not much has yet to be confirmed.

Even after all of the production setbacks Star Wars 7 is still scheduled for a December 18, 2015 release.
