'Star Wars Episode 8' Spoilers, Cast News: Warwick Davis Coming Back [TRAILER]
A beloved "Star Wars" icon is set to return in the highly-anticipated sequel of the film.
Post-production for "Star Wars: Episode VIII" is currently underway, and recent reports about the film suggest that Warwick Davis will return for the sequel. Davis is best known for his portrayal of the beloved Ewok Wicket in "Return of the Jedi."
The actor himself confirmed his involvement in episode 8 during his interview with News.com.au.
Fans saw the return of Davis to the Star Wars universe in last year's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," where he played Wollivan, one of the patrons seen inside Maz Kanata's bar when Han Solo and Rey arrived. Since the actor has kept mum about his role in the upcoming film, it looks unlikely that he will return as the same character in the sequel.
Davis is also listed among the stars returning in the first "Star Wars" spinoff, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story."
Last year, Disney revealed its plan to roll out one new "Star Wars" movie a year after the new trilogy and spin-offs. There are speculations that Warwick Davis will become a fixture in the "Star Wars" universe in the years to come.
Last month, rumors came out that reshoots for "Star Wars 8" may already be happening, after Carrie Fisher missed the New York Comic Con due to "Star Wars production." While Disney and Lucas Film did not confirm the rumors, "Star Wars" stunt performer Chloe Bruce revealed on social media that she was in Belfast and London. Bot were reportedly used as shooting locations for "Star Wars 8."
"Star Wars 8" is set for release on December 15, 2017.
