Star Wars Episode VII 2015 / Expanded Universe is BACK!

 

Disney Chief Alan Horn confirmed that there will be a Star Wars episode VII. The production date will sometime in 2014, but Disney and Lucasfilm are planning the release date to be in the summer of 2015.  The film will be the first Star Wars to be produced by Disney/Lucasfilms and production will take place in the United Kingdom. It is rather likely that previous cast members Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), and Harrison Ford (Han Solo) will all appear in episode VII.

Although Walt Disney Company purchased Lucasfilm Ltd. Back in October of 2012, Star Wars creator, George Lucas will still be involved in the film acting as the Creative Consultant. Star Wars episode VII will be an original screenplay and taking none of its content or inspiration from previous works. Episodes VIII and IX will follow in the same suit. J.J. Abrams mostly known for his work in drama, action, and science fiction movies is set to direct Star Wars episode VII. Abrams more relevant directorial works include, Star Trek (2009), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), Mission Impossible III (2006) and Super 8 (2011). Abrams has also produced films in the past such as, documentary Cloverfield (2008), Morning Glory (2010), and Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol (2011).
