'Star Wars Rebels' Season 3 Premiere Spoilers: A Legendary Villain Comes Back

A legendary villain returns in the premiere episode of "Star Wars Rebels."

Some members of the Ghost crew infiltrate an Imperial prison on planet Naraka and take out Stormtroopers. Padawan Ezra Bridger exhibits increased power as he takes control of the Force and raises Chopper over a search light. As soon as the beam passes, he lets the astromech droid to plummet and Zeb moves in a flash to keep him from falling all the way down.

The group then goes back to the cell block. The door opens and reveals an unknown Ugnaught, but a familiar face soon emerges out of the shadows, and it turns out to be Hondo Ohnaka. While Ezra is glad to see his partner, Sabine and Rex are more interested to hear the intel promised by Hondo. He reveals that the information is actually shared between him and Terba, the oinking Ugnaught.

In the middle of their conversation, more Stormtroopers arrive, forcing Sabine and Ezra to flee through the corridors. Ezra takes all the troops down with a combo of saber cuts, Force powers and blaster fire.

On their way to the exit, Terba informs Hondo that their deal is off before blasting him with an AT-DP. As soon as the team realizes that they're cut off from their pickup location, Ezra shows off his powerful Force abilities by cutting down the ground troops.

Captain Hera Syndulla arrives in the Ghost and the group jumps off from the platform to the hull and make their escape. Sabine tells him that the mission was almost spoiled by Terba, so Hera scolds Ezra.

In his room, Ezra is angered and denies being responsible for the death of Terba. The eyes in one of his Imperial helmets glow an ominous red, then the forbidden artifact tells him, "You anger gives you strength, focus. You can clearly see things which your friends cannot. Now, what else do you desire?" Ezra says his wish is to have more power so he can protect his friends.

Meanwhile, Pryce says she believes that the prison breakout signals the dawn of a larger rebel threat, so she wants the Seventh Fleet to be dispatched and deal with it. Tarkin agrees.

At the rebel base on Atollon, Hondo urges Hera to give him the Ghost in exchange for the intel. As Commander Sato agrees, Hondo reveals where the Reclam Station is located on planet Yarma. Terba tells him that the Empire makes use of the facility to turn the Republic's Y-Wing fighters into scrap.

Captain Rex and Sato decide to have Ezra lead a scouting mission to Yarma. Hera tells Ezra that Kanan Jarrus would be proud of him if Sato promotes him to lieutenant commander, but the teen refuses.

Finding it hard to adjust to his blindness, Kanan meditates outside the base. A mysterious voice through the force summons him, saying "Come to me."

Hera pulls the Jedi back to the material world but Kanan is not impressed with Ezra using the Sith holocron. He follows the voice and uses the Force to find its origin, until a rock-like structure props up and introduces itself as the Bendu. Bendu notes that Jedi and Sith wield the Ashla nad Bogan and that is he is the one in the middle. According to him, Kanan's presence on planet Atollon created an imbalance in the Force and awakened him from hibernation and highlights the Sith holocron.

Bendu explains that Kanan's sense of helplessness has created an internal conflict. He offers to teach him to see in a new way. This prompts the Jedi to take off his visor and reveal his sightless eyes and scar. "What must I do?" he asks Bendu.

Meanwhile, Admiral Konstantne is suspicious of Pryce's concerns about the unified rebel movement. According to Agent Kallus, the victory that resulted in the promotion of Thrawn left a lot of civilians dead. However, Pryce declares that those were "acceptable margins."

Thrawn then dissects the movements and deduces their plan to steal ships from Yarma.

Following their encounter with the Mining Guild, Sabine, Ezra, Rex, Zeb, Hondo and Chopper arrive at the planet in the Phantom drop ship. The scans reveal that the Y-Wings are being annihilated, so Ezra decides to abandon the mission to rescue them.

The second part begins with Phantom slamming into a dismantler droid. Chopper and Rex blast them off, but the impact causes them to almost crash through the storm clouds. Moving quickly to rescue the Y-Wings, they meet Ugnaughts. Hondo then persuades them that they are there to free them.

One of the workers turns off the conveyor that destroys the Y-Wings, but Sabine suddenly realizes the need for them to be refueled first before they can escape in them.

At Atollon, Bendu convinces Kanan to walk out towards Krykna using his remaining senses as part of his training. However, all he can sense is fear. Kanan realizes that his apprentice needs him so he marches away from the Krynka without fear and leaves the holocron to Bendu.

Back in Yarma, the Ghost team finds out that the Empire has locked down the remaining Y-Wings and the Ugnaught buddies tells him that the only way to override is through the control tower.

Ezra and Rex run towards the tower, while Sabine, Zeb and Chopper refuel the ships. Rex utilizes a crane to trap the fatal droid, then blasts its fuel until it is shoved into the stormy abyss beneath. As Hera hears the sounds of blaster fire while asking Ezra for updates, she decides to mount a rescue mission. She is lifted upon seeing Kanan waiting in the cockpit to save his apprentice.

At the control tower, Admiral Brom Titus assures Pryce that they will get their hands on the rebels. However, the unconvinced governor still decides to call for reinforcements.

Ezra breaks into the room and takes out two Stormtroopers. Titus tells him that the only way to unlock the Y-Wings is to cut the power in the station, but this will only send the entire facility down into the storm clouds beneath. Despite the threat, Ezra decides to slice through the power controls and orders his allies to flee in the bombers. While the teen allows Titus to escape, he sees Hondo making his own escape in an Imperial shuttle.

Sabine, Rex and Zeb let some of the Y-Wings fly away from the planet, but they learn that the vessels have no hyperdrives because Star Destroyer arrives to cut them off. On the other hand, Ezra realizes he has more immediate concerns since the plummeting station causes the Phantom to fall into oblivion.

As Phoenix Squadrom arrives to rescue the trapped Y-Wings, Hera and Kanan notice that Ezra is not with the others, so they make a beeline for Yarma and find that the station is already falling apart. Hera brings the Ghost in line with Ezra as he clings for life, while Kanan comes to save him. He implores his apprentice to let go, then drags him aboard before the whole station blasts off.

On Star Destroyer, Pryce tells a holographic Thrawn that they succeeded in engaging the rebel fleet. Thrawn orders the governor to let the rebels jump to hyperspace, to which Pryce agrees.

Back in Atollon, Hera chastises Ezra for not following orders and putting his team in danger. Before revealing that the Y-Wings will go to Gen. Dodonna, she suspends his command. Gen. Dodonna will plan the destruction of the Death Star.

Towards the end of the episode, Ezra asks Kanan what he did with the holocron. Kanan tells him that it is somewhere safe. Ezra then expresses his gratitude for his master for coming back to save him.
