Stephen Hawking: Humans Will Die Out in Less Than 1000 Years if They Do Not Relocate to Another Planet

Stephen Hawking gave a speech about the discovery of the God Particle in London, England last week. He talked about how the discovery of the Higgs Boson, or God Particle, made physics a lot less interesting for him because of the large amount of problems that had been solved by the find.  The Higgs Boson is responsible for the mass of objects in our universe and proves that many of scientist's theories about physics are correct.

He also said, "I don't think we will survive another thousand years without escaping beyond out fragile planet. I therefore want to encourage public interest in space."

Hawking talked about his M-Theory that, if proven, would find a uniting principle between gravity and quantum mechanics.

Hawking has hoped to bring more interest to space exploration for a long time now in the effort to get funding to explore other planets and solar systems in search of a "New Earth." Scientists have discovered several "Earthlike" planets that are relatively nearby and could possibly be reached over the next 20 to 30 years.

Hawking is an English scientist who developed many theories based on gravitational singularities. One of his more popular theories is that black holes emit radiation, often called Hawking radiation. He was the first to explain a general theory of a union between the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics.
