'Super Mario Run' Release Date, Price News & Update: Mark December 15 On Your Calendars

The "Super Mario Run" release date is set on Dec. 15 and according to news reports, the game will be free to download.

According to this news report from The Verge, the "Super Mario Run" will be the first mobile game of the franchise for the iOS devices. For the free demo, you can play three modes without paying anything.

It will launch in 151 countries in different languages like English, German, Chinese, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, Dutch, Japanese and Portuguese,.

The bad news, however, is that if you want the full experience, you will have to shell out $9.99 through an in-app purchase after the "Super Mario Run" release date.

Nintendo, meanwhile, assured that this is the only cost you will spend throughout the game until much, much later.

The Japanese company has full confidence about the "Super Mario Run" going viral after the release date, just like what happened to its another title, the "Pokemon Go."

"We all saw what happened when we delivered Pokemon Go," Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima told Bloomberg. "There's no doubt that more people are using smartphones to play games. And as this time we're using Mario, that's a very important intellectual property for us."

That means that Nintendo has huge expectations for "Super Mario Run," its first foray into mobile gaming. But he thinks it can match their expectations because of the talented team working on the title to make sure "it spreads out just as quickly as Pokemon Go."
