Today's Super Smash Bros 4 Pic of the Day showcases two legendary classic gaming match-ups as sneak peeks into the upcoming game for the Wii U and 3DS.

The first picture shows Super Mario and Bowser squaring off in a four sided boxing style ring. There is a crowd in the background, a jumbo screen, and pyro.

"Pic of the day. There are actually two versions of the boxing ring stage! This ring is the Smash Bros. version"¦" wrote game developer Masahiro Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse. See the image here.

The second photo Sakurai posted shows off a second ring design which is also Little Mac's stage. King Dedede and Kirby face-off in this old school matchup.

Yesterday's Pic of the Day featured Diddy Kong's Twin Rocketbarrel attack as he sent Little Mac and the Villager flying across the screen.

"The twin rocketbarrels are back, now with the ability to launch along more horizontal trajectories. They can also come off when opponents hit them mid-boost," wrote Masahiro Sakurai in the Nintendo Miiverse. See the posting and picture here.

The characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, the Villager, King Dedede, Lucario, Little Mac, and now Diddy Kong.

The game is expected out sometime this spring, however, Nintendo has not confirmed the date yet.
