Super Smash Bros 4 Roster: Pokemon X and Y's Lucario Makes Return to Character List (PICTURE)
Super Smash Bros 4 announced a new addition to the roster today, Pokemon's Lucario, who will be making his second appearance in the series.
"Pic of the day. The heroic Aura Pokémon, Lucario, joins the battle!! We've increased the influence of Aura this time, so a damaged Lucario is truly a force to be reckoned with," the game's developer Masahiro Sakurai posted to the Miiverse.See the picture here.
Lucario is a very popular character in the Pokemon franchise and plays a key part in X and Y as he is one of the Pokemon who mega evolves, and the first demonstrated in the game.
"Lucario joined the battle for the first time in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which was released six years ago. The production staff of Brawl worked really hard to expand the character roster--without their efforts, Lucario probably never would have joined the battle," Sakurai posted on Miiverse.
The last character added to the roster was King Dedede from the Kirby games.
SSB4 director, Masahiro Sakurai revealed the roster update on the 'Pic of the Day' on Miiverse.
"Pic of the day. Celebrating the launch of Kirby: Triple Deluxe in Japan, King Dedede joins the battle! Check out his evocative facial expressions on the official web site," Sakurai wrote on Miiverse. See the picture here.
King Dedede previously appeared in the last installment of the game, Brawl, for the Wii console.
The characters confirmed for the game so far are: Mario, Luigi, Link, Samus, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Bowser, Donkey Kong, Pit, Olimar, Toon Link, Princess Peach, Sonic the Hedgehog, MegaMan, Wii Fit Trainer, Rosalina, Zelda, King Dedede, and the Villager. Lucario makes character 22.
