Super Smash Bros 4 director Masahiro Sakurai's Pic of the Day, showed off the Rainbow Road stage on the 3DS version of the game.

In the screenshot are, Star Fox and the Wii Fit Trainer as a Shy Guy from the Super Mario games drives through the middle of the screen in this Mario Kart themed level.

"Pic of the day. Watch out for the Shy Guys driving down Rainbow Road," Iwata wrote on his Miiverse update page. See the picture here.

Recently SSB4's director announced how the trophy system in the new game would work.

"There will be trophies in the 3DS and Wii U games, and each version will boast different types and models. The 3DS trophies will be mainly from handhelds and the Wii U version will feature trophies from the home-console games," said Sakurai, in the first Pic of the Day for the new year.

Both games will also feature different stages from each other in the game and according to Gamerant. Sakurai said the 3DS and Wii U version will some how be able to link up. However, it is unclear what role this will play in the game.

The Pic of the Day feature on Sakurai's Miiverse page was on a short two week break for the holiday's with the last post coming on December 27.
SSB4 is expected in spring of 2014 although Nintendo has not officially announced the date.
