Super Smash Bros 4 Pic of the Day Returns, Wii U and 3DS Versions will have Separate Trophies Dealing with Platform

Super Smash Bros 4 will have platform specific trophies for the Wii U and 3DS, as fans could potentially get both versions of the game to complete the collection.

"There will be trophies in the 3DS and Wii U games, and each version will boast different types and models. The 3DS trophies will be mainly from handhelds and the Wii U version will feature trophies from the home-console games," said Masahiro Sakurai, the game's director in the first Pic of the Day for the new year.

Both games will also feature different stages from each other in the game and according to Gamerant. Sakurai said the 3DS and Wii U version will some how be able to link up. However, it is unclear what role this will play in the game.

The Pic of the Day feature on Sakurai's Miiverse page was on a short two week break for the holiday's with the last post coming on December 27.

The pic of the day that runs Monday through Friday will be on break starting Dec. 27. I'll be back on Jan. 6, so I hope everyone has a happy new year!!" Sakurai posted on the Miiverse forum.

The image posted in its absence appeared to be a new level that showcases a battlefield floating in the clouds. The SSB emblem is seen on torn flags in the background. See the image here.
