'Super Smash Bros' Wii U Release Date, Price: New Amiibo Characters

Nintendo has finally announced the specific release dates for the upcoming and highly anticipated title, 'Super Smash Bros' for the Wii U.

North America will be the first region to receive the game, as it's set to hit the shelves on November 21.

After that, the United Kingdom will be seeing a release on December 5, while Australia, New Zealand, and Japan, receive it on December 6.

Along with the release of the game, the first wave of interactive amiibo figures will also be launched. The first wave includes, Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby, and Marth.

A press release by Nintendo mentioned what gamers can expect in terms of price, "...just in time for the heart of the holiday shopping season, at a suggested retail price of $59.99. The first wave of Nintendo's interactive amiibo figures will launch the same day at a suggested retail price of $12.99 each."

The company also revealed details about the second wave of figures, "a second wave of six more figures set to launch in December."

Stepping back to the console copy of 'Super Smash Bros,' the game will also come in a bundle. The bundle runs for about $100 and includes a Wii U GameCube controller adapter and a special Smash-themed GameCube controller.

On a side note, it seems that Nintendo has decided to release the game on the same day another highly-anticipated game is going to launch. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will also be released on November 21.

At this point gamers are wondering if there's any marketing strategy behind this. However, they will have to wait to see if the upcoming 'Super Smash Bros' Wii U title outsells 'Mario Kart 8' which did very well in terms of sales earlier in the year.
